You will:
Direct, plan, schedule, and conduct quality system and technical system audits at Principal State Drinking Water laboratories. Formulate and execute long-range and short-term strategic planning for intra- and inter- laboratory Quality Assurance/Quality Control programs. Advise on the Regional program of auditing, inspection, and certification of State, contractors, and permitees operating environmental laboratories. Review quality assurance project plans and quality management plans to manage compliance with relevant quality standards. You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements. In addition to the educational requirements, we are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as performing quality system and technical system audits in accordance with quality assurance / quality control methods and practices.Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
1) Knowledge of drinking water regulations and policies; 2) Skill in program management; 3) Skill in conducting compliance and enforcement work; 4) Knowledge of quality assurance / quality control methods and practices; 5) Skill in short-term and long-range planning; 6) Skill in oral communication; 7) Knowledge of procurement and acquisition principles to process contracts; 8) Skill in written communication. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
