A willingness to learn every aspect of the practice clinical procedures.
Arranging tests (CT, MRI, Echo, etc), insurance pre-certifications.
Administer injections (mostly IM), perform EKG's, ear irrigation, flu tests, Covid swap, strep tests, uncomplicated dressing changes, etc.
Refill medications, execute follow-up calls, triage clinical calls, transcribe nursing voicemails and answer patient questions Process medication insurance prior authorizations.
Telephone health screenings for patients.
Room patients for provider visits:
Record patient data/history, chief complaint, verify pharmacy information, accurately verify medication and allergy lists, check vital signs, discuss screening recommendations (colonoscopy, mammogram, eye exams, etc).
Assist with medical supply orders and maintain fully stocked exam rooms.
Other administrative and clinical responsibilities and projects.
Required Knowledge & Skills A minimum of 2 years experience (preferred) Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, physicians, patients, families and the public.
Qualified candidates need the following:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Certificate of completion for Medical Assistant Program required.
Computer skills are required.
